At
Darrow Wellness Institute
our
philosophy
on healthcare is to assist our patients in their healing process on
many levels beyond just the physical.
Although our training teaches us to focus on the physical body as
the cause of pain and disease, we have found that many of our
physical problems stem from and are modulated by emotional, mental,
psychological, and spiritual issues. Our patients are taught to
create the concept and feeling of health. We often have to remove a
person's diagnosis that he or she has been branded with by other
doctors.
Not all people heal on the same schedule or in the same way.
We
provide a healing model with a loving environment. We don't deal in
disease; we deal in healing, which is an active process.

Cartilage damage
When the doctor says: "I
am recommending surgery, ultimately you will probably need a knee
replacement due to the damage in there." There are two choices to
make...one, accept your destiny and continue to live with an
unstable and painful knee until the surgeon calls, or find a
solution to your pain now. |

|
Prolotherapy injections have
been instrumental in avoidance of needless knee surgeries in
my Los Angeles clinic. Many of my patients have already had
one or two or three knee surgeries by the time they see me
in hopes of avoiding a knee replacement.
Accuracy of MRIs?
Diagnosis of knee injuries is, in my opinion, too dependant
on many large machines and invasive techniques. Your knee
hurts so you visit the orthopedist, here he uses his tools
to figure out why your knee hurts. While some of these tools
are very impressive indeed, are they accurate?
Cartilage
Damage
Removing tissue from your knee through surgical intervention
can only make your knee weaker in the long run and prone to
arthritis because removal of tissue decreases the shock
absorption capabilities built in to protect the knee.

The Medical Rationale for
Prolotherapy
Millions of
Prolotherapy
injections are given
each year. But does it work? Numerous articles have been published,
(some of the more important ones are listed below) to determine just
that. Is Prolotherapy a placebo? According to the published
research, Prolotherapy is not a placebo, Prolotherapy stimulates
healing.

Prolotherapy
to the
Shoulder
Consider
Prolotherapy for
●
Rotator cuff
●
Impingement Syndrome
and other shoulder injuries option.
If
you can put your finger on the exact spot that is causing the pain,
then there is a high probability that you are a candidate for
shoulder
Prolotherapy since most shoulder problems involve the soft
tissues—muscles, ligaments, and
tendons—rather
than the bones. |

Prolotherapy
to the
Hip
One
of the most interesting parts of the body to treat with Prolotherapy
is the hip. The reason is that most people mistakenly call different
parts of the body, the hip.
The hip can be:
●
iliolumbar ligament
injury
●
greater trochanteric bursa
The "hip" may actually be the hip joint or the ligaments that hold
the hip in place in the pelvis (in the acetabulum).

Prolotherapy
to the Neck
After
low back pain,
neck pain is probably one of the most frequent problems we see in
the office that Prolotherapy is often successful in healing.
●
headaches
●
Barre-Lieou Syndrome
●
Epidural
Injections
●
Neck Fusion
●
Whiplash
I
can't remember one instance that I have recommended neck surgery.
Prolotherapy injection treatment has been successful in ending the
neck pain and the arm pain, no matter what the diagnosis is.

TMJ, Headache
There are so many different types
of headaches, and it is very difficult for anybody to figure out
what category a headache will fit into. When we get patients in our
clinic, we hear everybody say that they have migraine headaches, but
they are not really migraine headaches. There are tension type
headaches, inflammatory headaches, people get headaches from sinus
infections, they get headaches from neck problems, from
TMJ.

Prolotherapy
to the Wrist
Prolotherapy
for wrist pain and CTS
Wrist pain was no stranger to me after years of gymnastics, tennis,
skiing, golfing,
surfing, weight lifting, and a myriad of other sports. But this time
was different. The pain mounted as the night went on. I avoided a
"deadly cortisone shot" offered by my orthopedic surgeon friends,
and surgery was out of the question.

Prolotherapy
to the
Elbow
Tennis Elbow for the most part is an
overuse syndrome. As a tennis injury it occurs for the most part
because of the backhand is not performed correctly. That is to keep
the elbow more in an extended position, those beginners or players
who do not have proper technique down, will bend the elbow when they
are ready to hit the ball and then they will straighten it out. This
causes quite a bit of overuse strain.
